Pray at ALL times? “Rejoice always, pray constantly, give thanks in all circumstances.” This was the Apostle’s advice for his friends in Thessalonica. But they didn’t have Super Bowls in Thessalonica (or maybe they did). Yes, the fans are praying for their teams.You can read all about the fans in Seattle and closer to home. So we pit the Seahawks with their Cathedral service tonight and their charismatic prayers on Sunday against our 82-year old nun, Sister Mary Ann Vasilchek, with her rosary beads and terrible towel.

And at Park Church, I’m expecting a sea of black and gold on Sunday morning. It’s fun. It’s part of our life. No need to keep any part of our lives out of the church. God knows it all. God wants to be lord of it all.

So should we pray for the Steelers? Should they pray for the Seahawks?
