Thanks from Good Friends

11.23.05

All those Park people who have traveled to Brazil know Nilcéia, and many of those who haven’t been in Jardim América have heard of this faithful servant of Christ and the church. Nilcéia is the church secretary at IPJA, but more than that, she manages the chaos of the church’s life and the visionary energy of Pastor Robson with a joyful grace that surely is a gift of the Holy Spirit.

Last September we heard that Nilcéia and her husband Emerson were being evicted from their tiny apartment, owned by Nilcéia’s mother, in the favela that climbs the hill opposite IPJA in Jardim América. A group of Nilcéia and Emerson’s friends at Park have come together to help provide a new apartment for this wonderful young couple.

They have written us:

First Emerson:

This will be just a short word to give thanks for how you have helped us, Nilcéia and me.

We know that it is not the primary goal of the Belo-Beaver Partnership, but we are also convinced that all that happens in our lives is a provision from God. It was God who one day took Robson all the way to Beaver and together with you and Park Church began a project that has changed the lives of many people. Certainly this is what has happened to us in our lives.

So, one more time… Thank you very much!

A big “abraço” and may God continue to bless you all!

Emerson

And then Nilcéia:

Hello my friend. How are you?

I am writing to tell you our news. We are now living in our new house and I am very happy. I would like to thank you and Park Church for the prayers and the financial help that you have given us. We are so thankful to God for your lives and for your support and for your friendship. Thank you! God will reward you for your help. Whenever any of you are in Brazil, we want you to stay with us in our house. It has a lot of space and we will be very happy to host you each time you come here. Our new house is always open to you. You and your family are already invited to dinner with us on your next trip to Brazil. We are very thankful to God for your friendship.

Um grande abraço,
Nilcéia

And we thank God for friendships like those we have with Emerson and Nilcéia!
